Gibbons was a very late addition to the Dedication squad, being added about 10 minutes before the start of a game in 2005. He had come to spectate, but Arron Kinleyside discovered that he would have to leave early due to work, so Gibbons was drafted into the team. Whilst his fielding left a lot to be desired (he wasn't comfortable without a baseball glove), he did manage to make a single run, giving him an average equal to that of Chris Hope. Gibbons has not played for Dedication since, but remains a loyal supporter of the club.
