Game 4: Hutt River Dedication vs Willowfest XI
Hutt River Dedication 10/171 def Willowfest XI 10/98
Game 4 saw PHR Dedication pitted against Cabbage Kerr's Willowfest XI. After Hankinson lost yet another toss Dedication were sent into bat on the questionable Onion Patch pitch. Jarry Mills and Phil Barker (34) managed to put the past behind them and established the innings with large scores. Mills once again fell agonisingly short of his maiden half century when he was dismissed for 45. Small contributions from the rest of the side pushed the score to all out for 171 after 47 overs.
Once again Dedication's bowlers were able to apply the pressure to Kerr's batsmen, with Jakob Sluiter and Brendan McArthy both taking 3 wickets. The team was also finally able to complete their first ever wicket celebration from a non-wicket ball - much to the confusion of the opposition batsmen. Although the game was always in Dedication's control, Ian 'White Line Fever' McMahon was still able to get under the skin of the opposition batsmen with a variety of distractive techniques. In the field Haydn Falconer regained the trust of the team by displaying a safe pair of hands while Todd McArthy was able to put a horror over in Game 3 behind him and deliver three tight overs.
Dedication now sit atop of the B Grade ladder, and a win over the Muppets in Game 5 will see the side win its first ever Willowfest Championship.
